Ok…I must confess something that grosses my wife out. I drink my cereal milk. That’s right…I said it. I find it to be a tasty treat at the end of my favorite cereal. So, you can judge me and report me to any authorities you want, and you can even call the TLC network to report a strange obsession that I have, but I am not changing…
Why do I love it so much? Well, it is probably because the cereal leaves such a sweet taste in the milk. The more sugary the cereal is…the better the milk after the fact. Boy….I have a serious problem.
Anyway…where am I going with this? Ah yes….
As I was thinking about the great taste that the milk has after this breakfast food is gone, I oddly began to think about my relationships with others. The main question that comes to mind is, “when I leave a conversation, or an interaction, are people better because they were with me?” No, i am not talking about pride or annoying arrogance, but I am wondering if people are seeing Jesus in me.
Our interactions with each other are crucial to each other’s growth. Even if someone is not a Christian, it is possible to be a blessing to others by attempting to see the positive aspects of a situation. Granted, we must also mourn with people who mourn, but my point is….Are people better because of their experience with you? Do others sense a difference in your life, and strive to grow simply because you have inspired growth? Have you shared your story with someone to give them hope in their journey? You should….that is one of the reasons God brings you through things.
Ask God to give you these moments today. Moments that will give you the opportunity to be a reflection of Jesus Christ. Leave a sweet taste in people’s mouths….drive no one to bitterness.
